Renewal Africa Foundation
A dedicated programme area

Health at the heart of community well-being.

Health is a distinct area of work for Renewal Africa Foundation. We are developing this programme alongside WASH, with its own priorities, partnerships and results framework.

The need

Start with the community and the evidence

Health needs extend beyond water, sanitation and hygiene. A dedicated programme creates space to understand community priorities, barriers to care and opportunities for appropriate support.

Our approach

From assessment to sustained use

  • Understand community health priorities with relevant stakeholders
  • Develop partnerships and define the scope of health activities
  • Set clear objectives, responsibilities and evidence requirements
  • Build community feedback into programme design and review
Results-based programme design

Measure delivery, change and contribution separately

Intended outputs

Defined health activities and services, based on an agreed programme design.

Intended outcomes

Changes in access and use of relevant health support, measured against an agreed baseline.

Long-term contribution

A contribution to community health and well-being, assessed through appropriate evidence.

Evidence approach: Indicators and evidence methods will be defined for each health intervention.

Each project framework connects conception and inception to inputs, activities and results, with assumptions, risks and feedback loops. Long-term impact is assessed through evidence, not inferred from completed activities.

Listen, adapt and review

Our plans connect conception and inception with inputs, activities, outputs, outcomes and impact. Community feedback should inform decisions at every stage, with clear responsibilities and follow-up evidence.
